Enrol in the 1Up! Gaming Group to Level up and Replenish your Life Sauce
We are now taking enrolments for the 2018 1Up! gaming groups running every Monday throughout the school year. We also accept new players anytime.
Join us for pizza, gaming, and making friends with similar interests during school term. We run a group for 12-16 year olds every Monday during school terms from 6:00-8:00pm.
The group is run by psychologist Holly and youth worker Sheyan, long time gamers who know how to use the digital world for good. We focus on supporting young people to make connections to others and use games wisely, through group psychological strategies, parent coaching, and child mentoring using games as an engagement tool. The group may suit children who have been resistant or unsuited to traditional 1:1 therapeutic relationships. To see if your child is suited to the group, come to a session for free! Groups are limited to 8 children, and other evenings will open up as groups are filled.
Sessions proceed as follows:
Monday Group (12-16 year olds)
Participants meet in the gaming lounge with Sheyan and commence group games.
Parents can see Holly until 6:30pm for information and support relating to games and gaming behaviour
Participants commence group games with Holly & Sheyan. Group discussions focus more on typical teenage gamer issues. Participants are given opportunities to share their thoughts and feelings as they become comfortable in the setting and with the group. We encourage participants to forge friendships with group members outside of the group.
Parents are welcome to relax in our waiting area and family room, or can come back at 8pm to pick up their child
